What is batch closing

1. Definition

Batch closing is a quick operation to close positions selected by the customer.


2. Applicable scenarios

When the market fluctuates drastically, customers who have multiple positions expect to close their positions quickly to take profit or stop loss.


3. How to use batch closing?

3.1 Mobile

● Method 1: Click [Trade] - Enter [Brokerage Account] - Click more on the upper right corner - Click the [Batch Closing] button

● Method 2: Click [Trade] - Find the position and swipe to the right - Click the [Batch Closing] icon button


3.2 Desktop

● Click [Trade] - Click the [Toolbox] and create the [Position] component - Click the [Batch Closing] button


4. Description and precautions

4.1 Description of each market

4.1.1 HK stock market

● Customize modification quantity: support. Noted that if the modified quantity is not multiples of one board lot, the order may fail. If necessary, please place odd lot orders.

● Order type: Limit order (enhanced), Market order. Products like HK stock options that do not support market orders will be submitted as limit orders.

● Price type: Latest market price.

● Pre-market: Allowed.  Orders for products like HK stock options that do not support pre-market will be submitted to the exchange after the open.

● Time-in-force: Day. If the operation is submitted during non trading hours, the related orders would be off market orders, and orders that do not support off market orders will fail. Please pay attention to the order status in time.


4.1.2 US stock market

● Customize modification quantity: support.

● Order type: Limit order, Market order. 

● Price type: Latest market price.

● Fill outside RTH: Allowed.  Orders for products like US stock options that do not allow it will be submitted to the exchange after the open.

● Time-in-force: Day. If the operation is submitted during non trading hours, the related orders would be off market orders, and orders that do not support off market orders will fail. Please pay attention to the order status in time.


4.1.3 CN stock market

● Customize modification quantity: support. Noted that if the modified quantity is not multiples of one board lot, the order may fail.

● Order type: Limit order. 

● Price type: Latest market price.

● Time-in-force: Day. If the operation is submitted during non trading hours, the related orders would be off market orders, and orders that do not support off market orders will fail. Please pay attention to the order status in time.


4.1.4 SG stock market

● Customize modification quantity: support. Noted that if the modified quantity is not multiples of one board lot, the order may fail.

● Order type: Limit order, Market order. 

● Price type: Latest market price.

● Time-in-force: Day. If the operation is submitted during non trading hours, the related orders orders will fail. Please pay attention to the order status in time.


4.1.5 Futures

● Customize modification quantity: not supported yet.

● Order type: Limit order.

● Price type: Rival price, Latest market price.

● Time-in-force: Day. If the operation is submitted during non trading hours, the related orders orders will fail. Please pay attention to the order status in time.


4.2 Precautions

1. Because batch closing involves multiple orders or markets, the final result is not guaranteed. Please pay attention to the position.

2. If there are pending orders, the close quantity may be 0 and the position cannot be closed.

3. Different products in the same market may have different trading hours (such as US stocks and options), which may cause some categories can not be closed.
